Jim Fox (B.S., ’65; M.S., ’72)

Jim Fox (Harry James Fox) (B.S., ’65; M.S., ’72) has just released his second fantasy novel, The False Prophet. It is a sequel to the first novel, The Stonegate Sword, which won a bronze medal in the Fiction: Fantasy/Alternate History category of the 2016 Global eBook Awards. Both novels take place in the area of Fort Collins, Colorado, a century in the future.

Susan Vorenberg Musgrave (’76) was a finalist for the prestigious 2016 New Mexico-Arizona Book Awards for her business book, Business is About Goofy People.  Published by ArtAge Publication, it explores the humorous characters and situations throughout the business environment. Musgrave is a well-known business executive in the state of New Mexico and nationwide working in government contracting and business development.

Thomas Leahy (’85) has been named the 2017 president of Specialty Tools & Fasteners Distributors Association (STAFDA), an international educational association comprised distributors, manufacturers, rep agents, and trade press serving the construction/industrial market.

Darla Gabbitas (’04), has recently been promoted to partner at Wick Phillips. Wick Phillips was recognized as one of the 2017 Best Law Firms by U.S. News – Best Lawyers. Gabbitas has been with Wick Phillips since 2014 and focuses her practice in commercial litigation.

James Lyall (Ph.D., ’07) has been selected as chief information officer for the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Golden. He will lead the office of the CIO in supporting all major information technology functions. Lyall currently serves as the CIP and associate vice president of academic and student affairs at Metropolitan State University of Denver.

Jasmine Rainey (’11) has published her first novel, Journey to the High Road: Lessons Learned with Alyson & Friends. She currently works as a college adviser for the Denver scholarship Foundation, helping first-generation college and other high school students pursue higher education.
